Miranda Creek flows into the sea at the northern end of 5 Mile Beach on Wilsons Prom. The Creek is tidal and is easily crossed at low tide. High tides make it more challenging as there are boulders to negotiate that are hidden from view. Miranda creek is brackish hence freshwater can be obtained from a creek that flows in from the north side of Miranda. This creek is on the opposite side to the camp site and about 40 metres to the west of the designated crossing point (Parks have placed a marker for the crossing). Occasionally black water events make it necessary to return south along 5 Mile beach and along the inland track to where there is a raised boardwalk over the creek (about 1 km). Parks do issue warnings on their website about water quality.

The campsite is located in the scrub near the outflow of Miranda Creek. Good flat and sheltered sites are available. There are no toilet facilities.
